Accessibility

Last updated: 2026-06-20

1. Our Commitment

We want every family and caregiver to be able to read and use these procedure-prep instructions, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how the site is built and maintained.

2. Measures We Take

  • Semantic page structure (headings, landmarks, and lists) so screen readers can navigate the content in a logical order.
  • Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator on every link, button, and control.
  • A "Skip to main content" link so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the header.
  • Text and interface colors checked to meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios.
  • Text alternatives for images, and data tables marked up with proper headers.
  • A responsive, mobile-first layout that supports text resizing and zoom without loss of content.
  • Instructions provided in both English and Spanish, with the page language declared for assistive technology.

3. Known Limitations

Our downloadable PDF handouts are now tagged for assistive technology — headings, lists, and tables are marked up so a screen reader can follow them in a logical order, and each document declares its language. If you have an older printed or saved copy that predates this work, or you ever have trouble with a PDF, every handout carries a QR code and a web address that open the same instructions as a fully accessible web page — please use that web version. We welcome reports of any specific difficulty.

4. Compatibility

The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge) and with the assistive technologies built into modern devices, including VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, and JAWS. If you use an older browser or assistive technology, some features may not work as intended.

5. Feedback and Contact

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site — or if you need any of this information in a different format — please tell us so we can fix it. Email webmaster@giready.com and, if you can, include the page address and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond promptly and to provide the information you need by another means in the meantime.
